  • To optimize the feeding support appointment, it is recommended not to feed the baby within 1-2 hours of the scheduled time. This approach ensures that the baby is hungry during the visit, allowing for a more accurate assessment of feeding behaviors.

During the appointment, the lactation consultant will bring a scale to weigh the baby. If you are breastfeeding, you will likely weigh the baby before and after the feeding session to determine the milk transfer.

While you are feeding or pumping, you will have the opportunity to address any questions or concerns you may have regarding feeding practices. Following the feeding session and assessment, the consultant will collaborate with you and your family to develop a personalized care plan tailored to meet your feeding goals and the baby's needs.
